Biography
American-Croatian racing driver Romeo Kapudija built a career across formula cars, GT racing and endurance competition.
Chicago roots. International ambition.
Born and raised in Chicago, Kapudija began in karting before moving into Formula Atlantic and the Skip Barber Formula Dodge series. His professional Toyota Atlantic debut came on the streets of Long Beach in 1999, where he finished eleventh overall and first among the C2 runners.
Sports car racing became the defining thread of his career. He competed in the American Le Mans Series, appeared at the 12 Hours of Sebring, and raced in the Grand-Am Cup and Rolex Sports Car Series. His Grand-Am years included sharing a car with actor and racer Patrick Dempsey.
In 2010, Kapudija stepped into a Crawford Daytona Prototype for the Rolex 24 at Daytona before joining Alex Job Racing for a season in the American Le Mans Series GTC category.
